Image files from digital cameras need further digital processing to prepare them for printing high quality photographs, producing printed materials, and sharing memorable images with family and friends. Photographers may not have the interest, time, skills, or tools for processing image files. PhotonJohn does
Many digital cameras are capable of producing RAW as well as JPEG image files. The RAW image files contains all the image information gathered by the camera. This is in contrast to JPEG image files that are the end result of the camera doing extensive processing, including removing a great deal of non-essential image information. Fortunately, enough image information is left in JPEG image files for further processing
PhotonJohn processes JPEG, RAW, and TIFF image files upload to the PhotonJohn Web site. The RAW image format is best for processing. Check out the RAW, JPEG and TIFF article for a comparison of the different image formats
Please be sure to read the Digital Image Processing document. Also, be sure to check out the Digital Darkroom document. It describes some of the processes and tools PhotonJohn uses to create high quality digital images.
